Introduction to Electromagnetic Brakes

Electromagnets are a key component of electromagnetic brakes, which have a significant impact on the performance stability and reliability of electromagnetic brakes. When the car continuously uses the brake on a long slope or adopts emergency braking during high-speed driving, the temperature of the working components of the brake will rise sharply. When the temperature reaches a certain level, due to the effects of mechanical, physical, and chemical factors, the friction coefficient of the brake friction pair decreases, and the braking efficiency of the brake decreases. This phenomenon is called thermal degradation of braking efficiency. The thermal degradation resistance of the brake is one of the important indicators to evaluate the performance of the brake. The following is an analysis of the temperature field of the electromagnet and friction ring at various time periods during the downhill long slope using finite element analysis method, and the accuracy of the analysis model and method is verified through experiments.

The electromagnetic brake is an executing component in the entire braking system. The electromagnetic brake is installed on the wheels of the trailer. The entire brake system is mainly composed of components such as electromagnets, lever drive mechanisms, front and rear brake shoes, bottom plates, and friction rings.

A mechanical component that stops or slows down moving parts in a machine. Commonly known as brakes or brakes. The brake mainly consists of a brake frame, brake components, and control devices. Some brakes are also equipped with automatic adjustment devices for brake component clearances. In order to reduce braking torque and structural dimensions, brakes are usually installed on the high-speed shaft of equipment, but large equipment with high performance requirements (such as mine hoists, elevators, etc.) should be installed on the low-speed shaft near the working part of the equipment.
